FAQs
What scenery will I discover on the Els Colls route?
You will paddle through the Els Colls-Miralpeix natural space, a Natura 2000 Reserve and the last stretch of undeveloped coastline between Barcelona and Tarragona. White pine cliffs, sea caves and the contrast of the Garraf’s greens against the Mediterranean blue create scenery that is simply unreachable from land.
Is a 3-hour kayak trip physically demanding?
The route is designed at a relaxed pace. It includes cove stops to rest, snorkel and enjoy the picnic. The guide always adapts the rhythm to the group, keeping the experience balanced and accessible for people with no prior experience.
Is snorkel kit included? Do I need experience?
Yes, snorkel equipment is included in the price. No prior experience is needed: the guide leads the underwater exploration at the planned stops, where the water clarity and biodiversity of the Garraf do the rest.
What is the difference between hiring a kayak and joining a guided trip?
With the RocRoi guided trip you access sea-only coves, receive paddling instruction, enjoy a picnic and are covered by insurance. The guide knows every rock, cave and current along the Garraf coast — only they know exactly where to find the best snorkelling spots.
How do I get to the RocRoi nautical base in Vilanova i la Geltrú?
The base is at Platja de Ribes Roges, Vilanova i la Geltrú (08800, Barcelona). There is public parking next to the beach and a train connection from Barcelona-Sants in 40 minutes (Rodalies R2 Sud, Vilanova i la Geltrú station). Showers and changing rooms are available at the base when you finish.
