Tristaina Lakes Hiking Andorra

An iconic trail through glacial lakes and postcard-perfect peaks

The Tristaina Lakes trail is one of Andorra’s most iconic hikes. Located in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the parish of Ordino, this route blends the beauty of high mountains with the calm of several glacial lakes — perfect for those seeking wild nature and stunning views.

Start of the trail:

The route begins at the parking lot of Arcalís ski resort, at about 1,900 meters above sea level. From there, you’ll enter a stunning alpine landscape right from the start.

On the way up:

The trail climbs steadily but isn’t too demanding. As you go higher, the views open up dramatically: the ski resort disappears below and you step into a world of majestic peaks and sweeping valleys.

Lakes area:

The highlight of the trail is reaching the Tristaina Lakes — a group of three glacial lakes surrounded by rugged mountains reaching nearly 2,800 meters. The setting is breathtaking: clear waters, open skies, and complete serenity.

Feeling energetic? Hike up to the circular Tristaina viewpoint for a full panoramic view over the lakes and the surrounding valley.

Return:

After enjoying the lakes, head back along the same path. The descent is gentle and lets you take in the landscape from a new angle.
