A magical forest adventure for the whole family

Looking for a kid-friendly hike in Andorra that’s full of nature, fun, and a touch of magic? The Bosc dels Menairons, near the village of Pal in La Massana, is the perfect trail for you and your little explorer (around 6 years old). This enchanting forest is filled with legends, shady trees, and just enough mystery to keep everyone curious.

Start of the trail:
Begin your adventure near Pal. The trail is well-marked and has a moderate incline—easy enough for kids, but just adventurous enough for you to enjoy the outdoors too (while probably carrying a pinecone “treasure” or two by the end!).

Along the way:
You’ll walk through a beautiful alpine forest, where—according to Andorran folklore—Menairons, tiny mythical forest creatures, live hidden among the trees. They’re shy, playful, and may only show up to the most curious little hikers… and only for a second!

Expect your child to suddenly become a detective: spotting suspicious footprints, magical-looking twigs, or “secret hiding spots” among the roots. This trail is full of opportunities for imagination and wonder.

The Menairons’ Zone:
You’ll reach a special part of the forest said to be where the Menairons live. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, have a snack, and listen… Who knows? Maybe one of these magical beings will make a quick appearance!

Heading back:
After your forest adventure, head back the same way you came. The round-trip takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on your pace—and the number of enchanted sticks your kid finds along the way.
