In rafting, the water passes under the raft. In a kayak, it passes around you. In hydrospeed, it passes through you. Lying face down on the foam board, body submerged from the waist down and fins cutting through the current, the rapids of the Olympic Segre canal are not viewed from above — they are felt in your chest, your arms and your clenched jaw before each hydraulic.

- Olympic canal: guaranteed flow, rapids engineered for the world's best
- Licensed instructor, 5 mm wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy aid.

What the experience feels like
Groups of friends: hydrospeed is not an activity you can describe the way you describe rafting. Words do not reach the sensation of Olympic rapids hitting you directly in the chest. You have to live it to understand it.
Couples: maximum adrenaline on the same canal where the world’s best competed at Barcelona 92. The most intense experience on the Segre, shared from the bank when the other person comes out soaked from the last hydraulic.

FAQs
Do you need to be an expert swimmer to do hydrospeed?
You do not need to be a competitive swimmer, but you do need good buoyancy and confidence in the water. The 5 mm wetsuit and buoyancy aid provide additional flotation. The instructor explains the correct body position on the board before entering the canal.
What is the difference between hydrospeed and rafting?
In rafting, the group shares a raft that absorbs the impact of the rapids. In hydrospeed, each participant rides an individual board with the body submerged from the waist down: the rapids hit the torso directly, with no barrier. It is the most immersive and physical of all whitewater experiences.
What is the difference between hydrospeed and open kayak on whitewater?
In open kayak you sit and paddle, with technical control over the craft via the paddle. In hydrospeed you lie on the board, propelling yourself with fins, with no paddle and no craft. They are two completely different experiences: kayaking rewards technique; hydrospeed rewards the courage to surrender to the water without a barrier.
Is the flow on the Olympic canal guaranteed?
Yes. Unlike natural rivers, the Parc Olímpic del Segre canal has a pumping system that guarantees the flow throughout the season, regardless of snowmelt or rainfall.
Why is hydrospeed on the Olympic canal different from a natural river?
The Olympic canal features rapids engineered by hydraulic specialists with defined, configurable obstacles. There are no natural-river surprises and no unpredictable flow changes. The instructor knows every metre of the course.
