FAQs
When is the best time for rafting in Llavorsí?
If you’re after more thrills, spring (May and June) brings higher water from the Pyrenean snowmelt and the rapids are livelier. In summer (July and August) the river mellows and is the top choice for families and groups. The season runs from late March to early October, depending on water levels.
How long does the Llavorsí – Rialp rafting last?
The full activity takes about 2 h 30 from arrival at the RocRoi Adventure Center to the return. The descent itself (on the water) lasts between 1 h 15 and 1 h 45 depending on water level and group. Set aside the morning or the afternoon — no more.
Do I need previous rafting experience?
No. Before you set off, the guide covers technique, positions in the raft, paddle commands and safety protocols. You bring the enthusiasm and the team takes care of the rest throughout the descent.
Is rafting in Llavorsí suitable for children?
Yes, in summer. The minimum age is 12 in spring and 6 in summer (the difference depends on snowmelt flows). Minors must always be accompanied by a responsible adult and must be able to swim. It’s one of the most recommended family activities in the Pallars Sobirà.
Do I have to be able to swim?
Yes — it’s an essential safety requirement, even though you’ll be wearing a buoyancy aid and accompanied by a licensed guide.
What do I need to bring for the rafting?
Swimsuit or bikini, towel, suncream and — especially useful in spring — a rash vest or thermal top. If you wear glasses, bring a strap. All technical gear (wetsuit, neoprene shoes, buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle) is provided by RocRoi.
Is rafting cancelled if it rains?
Usually not — you’re going to get wet anyway. The activity is only modified or cancelled if water levels or weather conditions affect safety. In that case, we offer a change of date or an ADVENTURE voucher.
What’s the difference between the Llavorsí – Rialp stretch and the other Pallars descents?
Llavorsí – Rialp is the classic stretch — the most complete and popular descent on the Noguera Pallaresa, with a total duration of 2 h 30. We also offer shorter runs for beginners (Llavorsí – Moleta), longer runs for those wanting more (Collegats, full day) and combos with canyoning, kayaking or a meal included.
Note: the activity and operational details may be adjusted depending on water levels and weather conditions. The RocRoi Booking team will contact the client in advance if the schedule needs adapting.
