The Rafting Llavorsí–Montardit Experience, Pyrenees

The Noguera Pallaresa is one of the most acclaimed rafting rivers in Europe, and this descent is one of the best ways to experience it. Starting in Llavorsí — the benchmark for Pyrenean rafting — it blends dynamic sections with calmer stretches that let you take in the natural landscapes of the Pallars Sobirà region.

Your experience begins at the RocRoi Adventure Center in Llavorsí, where the team kits you out and your guide runs a clear briefing on how the activity will unfold. You will learn the essentials: how to paddle correctly, how to position yourself in the raft and how to handle the rapids.

Once on the water, the descent builds gradually. The opening stretches let the group find the river’s rhythm and gain confidence. Progressively more dynamic rapids then make the run exciting and fun. The route passes through the Sort section of the river, famous for its slalom course — where the water speeds up and the team gets to pull off some great manoeuvres — and where major international canoe competitions have been held.

Throughout the descent there are also moments to take in the Alt Pirineu scenery, catch your breath and prepare for the next white-water sections. That balance between intensity and calm makes this descent very well-rounded and accessible.

When the activity ends in Montardit, the RocRoi team arranges the return transfer to base so that the experience wraps up comfortably and without stress.

The character of the river shifts with the seasons. In spring, snowmelt typically brings higher flows and more powerful water; in summer the river settles into an ideal rhythm for rafting with friends or family.
