Paragliding Tandem Flight Introduction in Àger, Lleida: Thermal Flight over the Serra del Montsec
View photos
The Sierra del Montsec is one of the best areas in Europe for free flight. From 11:00 AM, the sun warms the rock, filling the atmosphere with thermal currents that the professional pilot uses to keep the paraglider airborne for 15 to 30 minutes. This is not just a descent: it’s a real flight, with climbs, controlled turns, and views of the Pre-Pyrenees that you can't get any other way. And if you want to top it off with a dose of adrenaline, acrobatics are included.
- Level 1: Discovery – from 5 years old accompanied
- 15 to 30 min of actual flight time · 4x4 transport included
- Thermal flight with real climbs · acrobatics (upon passenger request)

What the experience feels like
Families: Children from age 5 fly in complete safety alongside the pilot. The 15 to 30-minute duration allows a full aerial introduction without running too long for the youngest passengers. The 4×4 transport to take-off removes any logistical complication.
Couples: Thirty minutes suspended above the Pre-Pyrenees with the thermals doing the work. If one wants calm and the other wants aerobatics, each flight adapts. A mid-morning plan that leaves the rest of the day free to explore Àger.

FAQs
What physical condition do I need for the introductory flight?
No prior experience required. You only need to be able to run 10 metres on a gentle slope for take-off and make a small landing hop. Maximum weight is 130 kg. Passengers over 80 years old have flown this route.
Is take-off scary? Is there any sensation of falling?
No. Take-off is progressive and smooth: you walk or jog a few paces over a green hillside and the wing lifts you with complete fluidity. There is no jumping from a cliff edge and no free-fall sensation of any kind.
What does the price include and are there any supplements?
The price includes the tandem flight, certified pilot, certified equipment, 4×4 transfer to take-off, insurance, parking and optional aerobatics. No hidden charges. The photo and video report is the only optional extra.
How long is the actual flight?
Between 15 and 30 minutes in the air, depending on thermal conditions on the day. As the flight takes place from 11:00 am, the sun has already warmed the rock and ascending air currents allow the pilot to maintain and gain genuine altitude.
Do aerobatics cost extra?
No. The basic aerobatic manoeuvres — Wing Overs, spirals and spins — are included in the price. The pilot performs them at the end of the flight if the passenger requests them.
