The experience — Guided Kayak + Free Paddleboard Combo
Choosing between guided kayak and free paddleboarding should not be a dilemma. The kayak gives power and safety to reach further with a guide who knows the area, and the SUP gives balance and freedom to explore at your own pace. In Nerja, both work on the same coastline: the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs. The activity starts at the activity centre on Burriana Beach, Nerja. The licensed instructor hands out double kayaks, a SUP board, paddles, buoyancy aids and a dry bag for belongings during the route. After the basic technical instruction, the group gets into the water. The waterfall awaits. The first half is the guided kayak route: the instructor leads the crossing along the limestone cliffs, enters sea caves and explains the Paraje Natural de los Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo from the water. The Maro Waterfall is the landmark that closes the outward route. The second half is free SUP hire in the same area: each person explores at their own pace what the guide has shown, with no fixed group, no set course. At the end, back to base. The free photo report captures every moment — the instructors carry GoPros and the photos arrive in your inbox. Personal lockers (at an extra cost of €2) keep bags safe throughout the day.What the experience feels like
