COMBO Rafting + Bungee Swing on the Gállego River: From the Rapids to the Jump in Huesca
View photos
In the morning, the Gállego river carries you. The raft, the guide, the team in unison — the rapids with the Mallos de Riglos looking like something from another world. In the afternoon, the river no longer carries you: you leap over it. Twenty-five metres of pendulum swing from the bridge, with the Gállego canyon below and the Mallos as witnesses. There is one exact moment between looking into the void and letting go. It lasts two seconds and rearranges the order of everything.
- Morning in the river, afternoon above it — two challenges, one spectacular setting
- No prior experience required — the first challenge of the day prepares you for the second
- Beginner Level in both activities — accessible from 14 years old

What the experience feels like
Groups of friends: the plan that generates the best stories. Rafting brings the collective adrenaline; the bridge swing delivers the individual moment that everyone watches and cheers. Two different challenges, one day to remember.
Couples: shared adrenaline in the morning, each facing their own limit in the afternoon. There are ways of getting to know someone — and then there is jumping together into the void above the Gállego.
Those seeking personal growth: the sequence is no accident. Rafting acclimatises body and mind to active adventure; the bridge swing takes that confidence to a personal level. You return home with two new stories and a different perspective on your own limits.

Practical details – COMBO Rafting + Bridge Swing Murillo de Gállego
Neither activity requires prior experience. The rafting is medium level — accessible from the first paddle stroke — and the bridge swing is resolved with a good technical briefing and the desire to cross that boundary.
- Minimum age: 14 years for both activities. Up to 18 years, parental authorisation is required for the bridge swing.
- Weight for the bridge swing: between 40 kg and 110 kg to guarantee the correct dynamics of the rope system.
- Level: Rafting grade III-IV; Bridge swing Beginner Level (Level 2), guided pendulum jump.
- Total duration of the day: approximately 7–8 hours including both activities, transfers and the midday break.
- Physical condition: knowing how to swim is essential for rafting. The bridge swing requires no physical effort, but participants must not suffer from vertigo or any of the stated medical contraindications.
- Limitations: not suitable for pregnant women or people with heart conditions, back or neck problems, vertigo, or other serious medical conditions. Always inform the guide before each activity.
- Mindset: a desire to paddle as a team in the morning and to push your own limits in the afternoon.

FAQs
Is prior experience required for either activity?
No. The medium-level rafting is accessible from the very first paddle — the guide explains the technique before entering the water and adapts the pace to the group. The bridge swing also requires no prior experience: the technical briefing covers everything needed to jump safely. The only requirements are no medical contraindications and, for rafting, knowing how to swim.
Can I do the pack if I’m afraid of heights?
Pre-jump fear is completely normal — and compatible with jumping. The safety system uses a certified double-rope, double-carabiner setup. The guide manages the protocol step by step, without rush or pressure. If you decide not to jump at the moment, you can cancel on the spot with no additional penalty. The jump only makes sense if it’s your own decision.
Is rafting suitable if I’ve never paddled before?
Yes. The Gállego’s grade III-IV is the ideal entry point for first-timers. The guide explains paddling technique before setting off and directs every movement on the water. The only requirement is knowing how to swim and following instructions. El Embudo and the ‘S’ are legendary named rapids, but with a well-coordinated team they are completely manageable.
Is the lunch break in Riglos included in the pack?
The midday break does not include food — it is free time for each group to rest as they wish. The village of Riglos has bars and options for a light meal with the Mallos as a backdrop. RocRoi can advise on available options when you book.
What is the difference between a bridge swing (puenting) and bungee jumping?
A bridge swing (puenting) is a pendulum jump using a dynamic climbing rope: you trace a clean arc beneath the bridge over the river, with no vertical bounce. Classic bungee jumping uses an elastic cord and the jumper bounces vertically. The bridge swing gives a longer, smoother sensation of flight and is gentler on the back.
Does the Gállego have enough water in summer for rafting?
Yes. The Gállego is regulated by the La Peña dam, which guarantees regular water releases throughout the season. This sets it apart from other Pyrenean rivers and allows rafting with a functional and safe flow from March to October.
