Kayak tour 2h ‘Pasifae’ in Vilanova i la Geltrú

The guided open kayak excursion to the Pasífae is one of the most popular activities in the area. Our guide will show you the most beautiful corners of the coast of Vilanova i la Geltrú towards the Pasífae monument.

The Pasífae, a sculpture by the Vilanovan Òscar Estruga made of three tons of bronze, has become an essential point of visit in the city of Vilanova i la Geltrú. It is the monument dedicated to the Greek mythological princess who gave birth to a minotaur after being bewitched by Posidon into falling in love with a white bull.

Pasiphae, daughter of the god Helios, was given in marriage to King Minos of Crete, who aroused the wrath of Poseidon, causing him to bewitch the princess. Pasiphae, madly in love with the ox, asked Daedalus, an inventor, for help, who built a wooden cow so that she could get inside and be ridden by the bull. The sculpture reflects the precise moment in which Pasiphae hides in the cow to be possessed by the ox and the result of that union is the birth of a beast, Asterion the Minotaur.

You will be able to observe the monument from very close to the sea and appreciate its grandeur.

This will be the first stop, then we will continue sailing and we will find Nin’s villa.

We will sail towards Cubelles and we will find the idyllic corner of Santa Llúcia where we will stop to observe it and enjoy a swim in the sea.
The excursion has a total distance of 4km (2.49 miles) approx. to go and return, arriving at the corner of Santa Llúcia.
Depending on the sea and weather conditions we can continue the excursion to the long beach, one of the last natural beaches heading south of Vilanova.
We will turn and head back in the direction of Roc Roi.

Once you have finished your experience you can shower in our fully equipped changing rooms.
The kayaks are in perfect condition, as they are renewed every season; they are self-bailing doubles or singles if you have previous experience.
Apart from enjoying the scenery, the qualified guides will teach you the minimum paddling techniques and the basic position.
