How far can I go in 2 hours of kayaking?
Two hours is enough to leave the swimming area of Ribes Roges beach and explore the coastline at a relaxed pace: reach the Pasífae sculpture, round the breakwater and catch a view of Cubelles. A unique perspective on Vilanova that simply cannot be achieved from land.
Do I need prior experience for the 2-hour hire?
It is not required. The open kayak is very stable and easy to handle. For the 2-hour hire we recommend a basic level of fitness to enjoy the paddling. Before you set off, the RocRoi team gives you the basic instructions so you can paddle efficiently and safely from the very first minute.
What does the kayak hire price include?
The price includes the full technical kit: self-draining kayak (single or double), double-bladed paddle and certified buoyancy aid. You also have access to the changing rooms, showers and lockers at the RocRoi nautical base.
Will I get wet during the kayak hire?
Yes. As an open (sit-on-top) kayak, splashes from paddling are to be expected. We recommend wearing a swimsuit or technical clothing that can get wet. The changing rooms and showers at the base mean you can get changed comfortably when you finish.
Is it safe to paddle alone for 2 hours along the coast?
Absolutely. Before you set off, the RocRoi team analyses wind and sea conditions to point you towards the best route of the day. During the hire you will paddle in a monitored coastal area, and we have a support vessel on standby for any unexpected situation.
