The Gállego River doesn't do routine. Here, whitewater rolls between conglomerate walls and the Mallos de Riglos tower above your head as you paddle, as if the entire Pyrenees had stopped to watch you.
Two hours of guided descent, top-tier technical equipment and legendary named rapids: El Embudo (The Funnel), the 'S'. RocRoi provides all the gear; you just have to bring the desire to get wet.
- Medium level: accessible from the first stroke, suitable for beginners
- 2 hours in the water - 3 hours total including logistics
- Water flow regulated by the La Peña dam: guaranteed from March to October
📍 Meeting point: UR Pirineos Base | RocRoi, Road A132 – km 38, 22808 Murillo de Gállego, Huesca, Spain – View on map · 31 mins from Huesca and 44 mins from Zaragoza via the A-132.

FAQs
Is medium level rafting safe for someone with no experience?
Yes. Grade II-III with the occasional stronger rapid is the ideal entry point for beginners. A qualified professional guide manages safety at all times. It is only essential that you know how to swim and follow the guide’s instructions.
What technical equipment is provided?
RocRoi provides a 5mm wetsuit —above the standard for the area— a high-resistance helmet, a high-buoyancy life jacket and closed neoprene booties. You only need to bring a swimsuit and footwear that can get wet.
Does the Gállego river have enough water in summer?
Yes. The Gállego is regulated by the La Peña dam, which guarantees regular water releases during the summer months. This distinguishes it from other Pyrenean rivers and allows it to maintain a fun and safe flow from March to October.
Can children participate?
Yes, from 8 years old for almost the entire stretch, and 14 years old for the full stretch (including the El Embudo rapid). For family groups with younger children, please check the availability of the family stretch.
What happens if it rains on the day of the activity?
Rain does not cancel rafting; it is a water activity. However, if the guide detects dangerous water levels or a thunderstorm, the activity will be postponed with a free change of date. Your safety is our absolute priority.
