Banana Boat Experience in L'Estartit: adrenaline by the Medes Islands

Some places simply make the sea feel different. L'Estartit, facing the Medes Islands, is one of them: crystal-clear water, open horizon and a seabed declared a Marine Reserve back in 1983. Here, the banana boat is not just an inflatable — it is low-level flight over one of the most spectacular stretches of sea in the Mediterranean.

Holding on tight, laughing non-stop with salty spray in your face: twenty minutes you will not forget. A certified skipper drives the speedboat, your safety gear stays on at all times and the only requirement is wanting to have fun.

  • Level 1 – Discovery: suitable for everyone, from age 8 with an accompanying adult
  • 20 minutes of real action right in front of the Medes Islands Natural Park
  • Life jacket, helmet and certified guide included

Our Banana Boat Experience in L'Estartit and the Medes Islands

The Medes Islands Natural Park is one of the most important protected marine areas in the western Mediterranean. Its waters, declared a marine reserve more than four decades ago, provide the backdrop to this experience: a short, intense and highly addictive activity off the coast of L'Estartit.

Your experience starts on the Passeig Marítim, just 50 metres from the harbour. Your instructor welcomes you, fits your certified life jacket and helmet, and in just a few minutes you have everything you need to enjoy the ride safely. No unnecessary waiting around: as soon as the group is ready, the boat powers up and the banana boat skims out over the water.

During the 20 minutes of activity, the speedboat tows you at full speed along the coast, with the outline of the Medes Islands as a constant backdrop. The inflatable swings through turns, picks up speed, brakes sharply and all you can do is hang on, shout and burst out laughing.

This is one of the most popular activities on the Costa Brava precisely because it needs no preparation at all: everyone knows how to enjoy it from the very first second. The setting makes it feel special.
