On this guided kayak route you will sail along the tail of the Valle del Jerte reservoir, entering the canyon of the river Jerte, with views of the valley from the water that you can't miss.

Itinerary

You will paddle along the tail of the Valle del Jerte reservoir, entering the canyon of the river Jerte. You will paddle 6 km upstream, with a low to medium difficulty as there are no big rapids. You will slide the kayak through water mirrors surrounded by Mediterranean forest, watching the majestic walls of the canyon that reach 100 metres above the riverbed.

You will pass under the emblematic Julian Bridge, and then head towards the Isla de los Pájaros (Birds’ Island) to observe herons and ospreys. Further on you will reach the Devil’s Rapids, a class II small pass where you will manoeuvre to avoid the rocks. Finally, we will disembark at Playa de los Argentinos, a protected natural area within the Monfragüe National Park.

Our kayaks are made of recycled plastic to minimise the impact on the environment. A 3 hour tour with breathtaking views of the Jerte Valley that will connect you with nature, a unique paddling experience for all levels!
