FAQs
Do I need to know how to surf to hire a board in Valencia?
Yes. This is a hire service with no instructor. You need prior surfing experience and must be able to enter and exit the water independently and safely.
What types of boards are available?
Softboard (foam) for greater buoyancy and safety, recommended if you’re newer to surfing. Hard board for surfers with more technique. If conditions change, you can swap boards.
Is the wetsuit included in the hire?
No. The price includes the board and leash. A wetsuit can be hired separately. In summer the Mediterranean is usually at a comfortable temperature, but at other times of year you may need one.
How do I know if there are waves at La Malvarrosa?
Check the surf forecast (Windguru, Magicseaweed, or the La Marina team directly) before booking. La Malvarrosa is a beach break that works well with Levante winds. Wave windows on the Mediterranean are short — when they’re there, make the most of them.
Is it safe to surf at La Malvarrosa?
La Malvarrosa is a sandy beach break, generally safe. We recommend checking local currents with the team before entering the water. The La Marina base is just metres away — if in any doubt, ask before you paddle out.
