Adventure level: self-sail dinghy sailing for people with certified experience. If it is your first time with RocRoi, we carry out a prior level test (*) to ensure a safe launch.

Is previous experience required to hire a catamaran?
Yes. This service is for people with certified dinghy-sailing knowledge. When sailing without an instructor you must be able to manoeuvre, trim the sails and know the right-of-way rules at sea.
What if I want to sail a catamaran but have no experience?
Then your product is the Catamaran Adrenaline Trip: same craft, with an instructor on board and no prior experience required. All the thrill of catamaran sailing on the Costa del Garraf, with no accreditation needed.
How many people can go on board?
Depending on the model available, the usual capacity is 2 to 3 people. Ideal for couples or small groups who want to sail together independently.
How is safety managed during the hire?
The RocRoi team monitors weather conditions at all times. Craft are hired out for light-to-moderate wind, never above 15 knots. Staff supervise every launch and the client signs a responsibility acceptance form.
What is the best time to catch the wind?
From 1 pm, when the Garbí — the Garbinada — arrives: a south-westerly thermal wind of 8 to 15 knots, constant and reliable between June and September. The ideal slot for reaching.
What does the level test involve?
The test demonstrates sufficient knowledge to: launch from the beach and return through the surf zone safely; know the right-of-way rules and permitted sailing zones; sail upwind, downwind and across the wind; perform stop-and-start manoeuvres; and know how to right the craft.
