The experience — the jump that wipes out stress in one go

The Pedraforca adventure park occupies a corner of subalpine forest in the Parc de Palomera, in Saldes, where the pines grow tall enough to hang circuits seven metres above the ground. The mountain that gives the park its name is visible from the highest routes: that double-peak silhouette that Catalans recognise instantly, marking the southern boundary of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.

You arrive at the meeting point and the team of qualified instructors fits your harness and explains in a few minutes how the safety system works. The continuous safety line clips on at the start and it is technically impossible to unclip at any point during the route. Parents know this from the very beginning, and that is what lets them relax while their children tackle the first obstacle.

The circuits progress by level. The blue circuit is the warm-up: hanging bridges, walkways and zip lines between two and three metres above the ground — enough to understand how the park works and lose any hesitation. From the red circuit onwards things change: six or seven metres up, more technical obstacles and a fork where each person decides whether to take the easier or harder path.

The Adrenaline Circuit is a different matter entirely. A 250-metre super zip line and a 12-metre free-fall bungee jump wait at the end. But it cannot be described properly without having done it. Nobody who unclips their harness ever forgets it.

What the experience feels like

Families: Children from age 3 do the green children’s circuit one metre off the ground with an adult alongside; teenagers from age 10 take on the Adrenaline Circuit and come down from the bungee jump with a story to tell. Everyone finishes with the same rush and the same shared memory.

Couples: The park works just as well for two. Each person advances at their own pace and the Adrenaline Circuit becomes the moment you decide to do together — or not. Most do. And most come back.

Groups of friends: The combined circuits sustain up to two hours and forty-five minutes of continuous activity without a dull moment. The internal competition over who goes first on the 12-metre jump does the rest.

The park is classified as Level 1 – Discovery: no circuit requires prior experience. Each route has its own progression, from the children’s circuit to the Adrenaline Circuit.

What is the minimum age for the Pedraforca adventure park?

From age 3 (with an adult alongside) for the green children’s circuit. From age 7 unaccompanied for the blue circuit. For the advanced circuits — blue+red, black and Adrenaline Circuit — participants must be at least 10 years old and 1.40 metres tall.

Is the safety system reliable for children?

Yes. The park uses a continuous safety-line system: the harness clips on at the start of the route and it is technically impossible to unclip throughout the activity. The park holds the European UN-EN15567 certification, the most stringent for aerial installations. Instructors supervise from the ground and are trained to assist or evacuate anyone who needs it.

How long does the activity last?

It depends on the circuit chosen. The children’s circuit takes about 40 minutes. The blue circuit takes approximately 1 hour. The combined blue+red circuits reach 2 hours; blue+red+black reaches 2 h 45 min. The Adrenaline Circuit (250 m super zip line + 12 m bungee jump) takes around 1 h 30 min.

What is the Adrenaline Circuit?

The most intense circuit in the park. It includes a super zip line of over 250 metres and a 12-metre free-fall bungee jump. Requires age 10 and a minimum height of 1.40 m. It is the only circuit of its kind in the Berguedà.

Is there parking? And other facilities at the park?

Yes, parking is free and included in the price. The park also has a picnic area, an indoor picnic dining room, a bar with coffees, drinks and snacks, and toilets for guests.
