Vilanova i la Geltrú: Guided open kayak route to Cucanya on the America’s Cup route

You can reach Vilanova i la Geltrú by train comfortably from Barcelona or Tarragona, to visit the city during the celebration of the America’s Cup.

In this experience you can watch the start of the America’s Cup while sailing parallel to the wind axis of the circuit in a kayak with one of our expert guides who will accompany you along the route until you reach the area of the Cucaña cliffs.

To begin with, our guide will give you a brief briefing on the basic kayaking technique and the route. Then, you will board your kayak and do some initial exercises to get you started. The guide will teach you how to manoeuvre the kayak and stop where necessary or keep your distance from other boats.

You will start the route towards the cliffs of the Cucaña parallel to the America’s Cup competitive stage. You will be part of the event as an audience enjoying privileged views of the event with the bay of Vilanova in the background and the Garraf Natural Park behind you in a protected natural area.

Depending on the weather conditions, the guide may decide to modify the route.
