What the experience feels like
Families: Whitewater accessible from age 14 with an adult. Teenagers tackle their first real river and parents get back something family outings rarely deliver: shared adrenaline.
Couples: An experience that breaks the usual mould. If you finish the descent still in your wetsuits with a «we have to come back» grin, the plan worked.
Groups of friends: Pace, cold water in the face and at least one story to tell on the way home. The Guadiela is not the kind of day you forget or stay quiet about.

FAQs
What happens if I capsize in the Guadiela rapids?
Capsizing is part of the learning curve in Grade II and III whitewater. Before the descent, the guide — qualified in river rescue — covers the self-rescue protocol in the briefing. The high-buoyancy aid keeps the participant afloat at all times, and the team retrieves the boat in seconds. You come out of the water with more confidence, not less.
Do I need previous canoeing experience for the descent?
No. The dry-land briefing covers paddle technique, river reading and safety protocol before you enter the water. The essentials are swimming ability, stamina for sustained effort and enthusiasm for getting wet. Technique is picked up along the way.
Will I be cold in the Guadiela water?
No. A full wetsuit is included in the price and maintains body temperature even after a capsize. It is designed precisely for active stretches like the Guadiela. Bring a change of footwear and dry clothes for after the descent, especially in spring and autumn.
What is the difference between this whitewater run and the guided route on the Guadiela?
The whitewater run is Adventure Level: Grade II-III rapids, a dynamic pace and from age 14 with an adult. The guided route on the same river is a different stretch aimed at beginners: calmer water, environmental interpretation and suitable for families with younger children. They are two products designed for different audiences.
How far is it from Madrid?
Approximately one and a half hours by car. The Guadiela is the closest whitewater stretch to central Spain. A morning departure, the descent, lunch in the area and an evening return fit comfortably into a full weekend day without needing to stay overnight.
