As we have already explained in this blog, this Summer we have started a new SUP yoga activity in La Torrassa lake. The feedback we’ve had is very positive: sessions had more and more assistants, many participants repeated, and all this made us realize that there are many people interested in this discipline. In October we’ll continue with our SUP yoga activities, now in our Vilanova center.

SUPYoga_RocRoi3SUP Yoga is the practice of yoga on a paddle board. SUP Yoga allows us to practice yoga in exceptional natural environments (in this case in Vilanova i la Geltrú beach) and intensifies our physical and mental work. Physically it provides a very intense work since all our body is active at all times to achieve stability. Practicing SUP Yoga also requires concentration and at the same time provides inner peace through the yoga movements used and the meditations and breaths to achieve balance.

Once the equipment is distributed, the practice will begin, which is organized as follows:

-Technical explanation on land: basic characteristics, equipment and how to use it. How to be placed on the table and how to use the paddle to move to where the practice will begin.
-Small warm-up on land.
-We will paddle to the spot where the practice will take place. There, we will fix all the tables in a comfortable way for practice.
-Start of SUP Yoga practice. We will take into account the level of the group, with 3 different levels to better adapt to the participants.


Being on the table brings many benefits to the practice of yoga: we work a lot on balance, we intensify concentration, the connection with nature is total and we can exercise all the muscles of the body.

Daina Ortiz Jové is our SUP Yoga instructor, a great expert in this discipline. Using Kundalini Yoga techniques, she works in each session to convey her love and respect for nature through her knowledge about yoga and practice in a natural environment. The goal of Daina in each practice is inner peace and that each student can apply as much as possible what they have learned to their daily life.
