March 22nd is World Water Day. As every year, the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) wants to take advantage of this event to create a common space where all of us can actively participate in the reflection and awareness of this precious and fragile asset. RocRoi also wants to contribute to this iniciative with special activities in our centers of Llavorsí and Vilanova y la Geltrú.
In Llavorsí, the weekend of March 24th and 25th we will organize a rafting descent down to Rialp at a very special price. Probably the river will have a nice flow after the recent snowfalls, and this will allow us to discover the thrill of spring rafting. We will also have a very attractive activity in Vilanova: a 2h open kayak excursion, Pasifae, which will allow us to discover Vilanova and its coast from a unique perspective. You can find these activities and all the rest of activities organized on the occasion of World Water Day here.
As previously said, it is necessary for all of us to bear in mind that water is a good that must be preserved to guarantee the quality and sustainability of the environment, and the people’s well-being. With this aim, ACA takes advantage of March 22nd to pay special attention to this fact with a series of events, activities, workshops, etc. Among these initiatives, we want to highlight the contest they have organized on Instagram, Twitter and Youtube. They propose a contest that consists of publishing photos and videos on the theme “water and drought: its impact and what we can do to minimize its effects”. The idea is that we all share our vision of how the drought is affecting our rivers and the environment, and what each of us can do to minimize the effects of this drought. The images have to be labeled with #acaWorldWaterDay2018 and if you have any doubts, you can consult the rules of the contest here. As you probably remember, in 2017, one of RocRoi’s images was among the winners, and we encourage all of you to take part, as we will also do.
