Lluís Rabaneda, one of the founders and CEO of the adventure sports company RocRoi, has been the candidate proposed by the Spanish Canoeing Federation for the vice presidency of the International Canoeing Federation. The current president of the ICF, José Perurena, from Madrid, will leave the position he has held for the last twelve years this year.
Rabaneda has been president of the freestyle technical committee since 2004 of the International Canoeing Federation (ICF) and now aspires to be the new vice president of the board of directors of the international organization this year.
The new members of the International Canoeing Federation will be decided at a congress to be held in Manila (Philippines) next December.
Rabaneda has been working on his candidacy for weeks and confesses that ‘the World Cups of the Seu and Sort have given me and our company (RocRoi) a lot of visibility and all help, but it will be a very tight fight because there will be six or seven nominations’.
His candidacy includes the objective of “the television distribution of competitions and the creation of a sustainability department like the one we have set up in the Spanish Federation, although all this will depend a lot on the new president’s lines of work’.
Rabaneda has been the head of freestyle in the ICF for 15 years, a member of the board of directors of this organization and responsible for international relations of the board of the Spanish Federation.
