Jordi: My name is Jordi Diaz, I’m an aeronautical engineer and I’ve been enjoying hot air ballooning for more than a decade. My passion for the outdoors started during a new job as an engineer when I discovered the fascinating world of hot air balloons. Since then, I have dedicated my career to exploring and promoting this unique form of adventure.
What is your favorite adventure sport and why?

Jordi: My favorite adventure sport is, without a doubt, hot air ballooning. It fascinates me because of the peace you feel floating in the air, the breathtaking panoramic view it offers and the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective.
Could you share your best memory or experience practicing this sport?
We delve into one of your most memorable moments in the air.
Jordi: One of my best memories flying in a balloon was during an international balloon festival in Mexico. The sky was filled with hundreds of colorful balloons at dawn, creating a spectacular sight. Also, sharing that experience with pilots from all over the world and seeing the joy on the faces of the spectators was truly unforgettable.
What do you think are the biggest challenges facing the outdoor industry (or your sport) today?

Jordi: I think one of the biggest challenges facing the outdoor sector, specifically in hot air ballooning, is regulation and safety. As the sport becomes more popular, it is crucial to maintain high safety standards and ensure that regulations are updated and properly enforced to protect both pilots and passengers.
What advice would you give to someone who has never practiced this adventure sport before?
He shares his wisdom for those who want to fly in a balloon for the first time.
Jordi: For those who have never flown in a balloon, I would advise starting with a calm flight at dawn, which is when conditions are usually more stable. Also, it is important to choose a reputable flight company that prioritizes safety and has experienced pilots.
