Last Saturday, November 16th, the collection of waste took place within the campaign of the Catalan Sailing Federation “FOR A SEA WITHOUT PLASTICS” on Ribes Roges beach in Vilanova i la Geltrú with RocRoi organization.
This campaign is framed within the European Week of Waste Prevention that is celebrated from the 16 to the 24 of November of 2019; and whose objective is to organize awareness actions throughout Europe, with the support of Ports de la Generalitat and the Waste Agency of Catalonia. A hundred volunteers collected about half a ton of waste between 11 am and 12:30 p.m.
Thanks to actions like this we sensitize to the next generations and to the society on the importance of recycling and keep taking care of the environment. The European Week of Waste Prevention has achieved the participation of thousands of people thanks to the 16,570 actions that have been celebrated for the moment.
Once the day has finished, all the volunteers participants have been able to enjoy the free activities at the RocRoi Nautical Base on Ribes Roges Beach until 2pm, as well as receive information about the next similar actions that the company will carry out soon.
