The Paris 2024 Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, will be an international multi-sport event scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, in Paris, France.
The French capital officially submitted its bid on June 23, 2015. Although the selection of the host city was initially planned for September 13, 2017, during the 130th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lima on July 31, 2017, Los Angeles—one of the two remaining candidate cities—reached an agreement with the IOC to host the 2028 Games, thus paving the way for Paris to host the event in 2024. Paris will be the second city, along with London, to host the Olympic Games three times, having previously done so in 1900 and 1924.
This event will mark the centenary of the last Games held in the French capital.
Archery (July 25, 28 to August 4)
Archeryis an ancient tradition that has evolved over centuries. In the Olympics, archers shoot at targets 70 meters away, aiming for the center with great precision. Events include individual competitions for men and women, team events, and mixed teams. Each archer goes through a qualification round with 72 arrows, followed by a knockout system.

Mountain Biking (July 28 and 29)
Since its introduction at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, mountain biking has been a test of endurance and technique. Races take place on mountainous and rugged circuits, challenging cyclists on difficult terrain. Each competitor completes several laps on a challenging course, finishing the race in 1 to 2 hours.

Sport Climbing (August 5 to 10)
Sport climbing features three disciplines in the Olympics: bouldering, speed, and lead climbing. In bouldering, climbers tackle walls up to 4.5 meters high without ropes; in speed, they race against the clock on a 15-meter wall; and in lead climbing, they ascend high walls within a time limit without knowing the route in advance. Paris 2024 will have two competitions: combined (bouldering and lead) and speed.
At RocRoi:
- Climbing Routes: Includes boulder walls and challenging routes for all levels.
- Specialized Training: Classes and sessions to improve climbing techniques and strength.
Canoeing (July 27 to August 5)
Olympic canoeing is divided into slalom and sprint. Slalom takes place on whitewater with a gate course, where competitors must navigate quickly while avoiding penalties. Sprint occurs on flatwater with speed races over distances of 200, 500, or 1,000 meters. In 2024, kayak cross will be introduced, a combined event of all whitewater disciplines.

- High-Quality Equipment: Canoes and kayaks designed to provide an authentic experience.

Surfing (July 27 to 31)
Olympic surfing takes place at Teahupo’o, Tahiti, known for its challenging waves. Surfers are judged on the variety, difficulty, and fluidity of their maneuvers. They use shortboards to perform spectacular tricks on big waves. The competition evaluates their ability to connect movements with style and power.

- Equipment and Classes: Shortboards and surfing sessions adapted to your skill and experience.
Sailing (July 28 to August 8)

Competitions are held in fleet races where strategy and adaptation to changing conditions are crucial.
At RocRoi:
- Sailing Classes: Includes kitesurfing and windsurfing with instructions for all levels.
- Modern Equipment: Boats and boards designed for optimal performance in various conditions.
From Llavorsí to Paris 2024: Lluís Rabaneda in the Spotlight
Lluís Rabaneda, founder of RocRoi and current Vice President of the International Canoe Federation (ICF), will play a key role in the Paris 2024 Olympics. He will be the president of the jury for the slalom and kayak cross disciplines and a member of the track committee for both the Olympics and Paralympics (paracanoe).
